The festival brings together Malavika Sarukkai’s acclaimed bharata natyam classical dance solo performance next to the contemporary stylings of BBC Radio DJ Nihal’s Desi Live night featuring the cream of the UK’s bhangra artists. We welcome Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman to Royal Festival Hall; the stars of Channel 4’s hit television series The Family appear in their own evening of music and entertainment in Queen Elizabeth Hall; and there are many opportunities to get involved yourself by joining a giant folk dance and learn classical Indian vocal techniques.
