The Drag Olympics

It’s glamour, it’s garish - it’s the The Drag Olympics at the Way Out Club, where drag queens battle it out to be crowned Olympic champion.

The event calls all trannies to don their glad rags and test their resilience by limboing in high heels, battling their way over a drag obstacle course and leaping an elastic string in the high jump.

If you fancy a look or compete, then pop into the Way Out Club in Tower Hill on the 1st of May 2010.

Camden Crawl

Indie junkies in skinny black jeans head for London’s Camden Crawl. Here the Roundhouse is one of 40 venues in Camden to welcome bands and surprise guests, quizzes, film shorts, DJ aftershow parties and musical bingo.

The packed line-up features established acts alongside up-and-coming names. Past performers include the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Fall, Little Boots, Echo & the Bunnymen, Idlewild, Wire, Billy Bragg, 808 State and The View.

London Orginal Print Fair

The London Original Print Fair intoduces 45 international dealers who come to sell diverse works from across five centuries at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Artists whose work can be found here vary from Old Masters such as Rembrandt and Piranesi through 18th and 19th-century Artists such as Hogarth, Goya, Sickert and Vuillard to the Modern and Contemporary field represented by many artists including Picasso, Sutherland, Hirst, Riley and Opie.

Sci-Fi London Film Festival

First held in 2002, the London International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film ranges from premières of the latest genre blockbusters to a 48-hour film challenge for five-minute films, join the all-nighter film screenings in May 2010 at the Apollo West End.

International Guitar Festival

London’s South Bank Centre and the International Guitar Foundation celebrate a six-string festival from around the globe. Past performers have included award-winning guitarist Tom Kerstens, Allan Holdsworth and one of Spain’s leading flamenco guitarists, Gerardo Nunez.

Temba

Whitechapel’s Rhythm Factory hosts Temba on the second Saturday of each month. The musical styles of techno, electro, minimal breaks and acid gave the party its name. Time for people to witness how funky your dance moves really are.
