Explore the Hidden sights of London from umi Hotel London

Seeing all of the traditional London sights is enjoyable, but sometimes its fun to try the unusual and explore a London besides the ones on the tourist lists. London Text Hunts let you visit some of the more hidden sights of London and provides a little bit of a competition between you and your friends.

There are three different tours provided, each covering approximately 3 miles of London. “Hidden Places, Open Spaces” is one of the easiest of the hunts and starts not far from Oxford Circus, involves eight clues and lasts approximately 2 – 4 hours. Little knowledge of London is required to complete the hunts, but it is best to have an indexed map of the city along to help solve the clues.  A little more challenging is the “Cryptic Covent Caper,” which leads you around the Covent Garden area and lasts about 2 – 3 hours. The third and most challenging hunt, “Bar Breaks,” explores the area around Trafalgar Square and provides you with the opportunity to visit a couple of bars along the way and can take anywhere from 2 – 4 hours to complete.

To go on a hunt, register a team online. If you register more than one team, you can have a competition to see who finishes first. Each team captain will receive a welcome text. Teams reply to that number to answer the clues along the hunt and receive new clues. It is an exciting and competitive way to explore London with your friends.
