High-speed London to Folkestone rail link up for sale by government
The government is putting the 68-mile (109km) London to Folkestone high speed rail link originally constructed to connect London to the Channel Tunnel.
The high speed train line runs from London St. Pancras to Folkstone and has a number of stations including Stratford, Ebbsfleet and Ashford.
Eurostar and Japanese built Javelin trains regularly run on the track.
The sale of the track is likley to raise around £1.5 billion for the government.
It is likely that European visitors will benefit from the sale as new services will run on the track.
