Hotel for BBC Proms 2010
Dates: 16 July 2010 to 11 September 2010
Venue: Royal Albert Hall
The greatest classical music festival on earth returns to London’s Royal Albert Hall. It’s time for the Proms!
Last year, the number of concerts reached 100 for the first time.
What are the Proms?
“Proms” is short for Promenade concert: informal and inexpensive concerts where Promenaders (“Prommers”) pay just £5 for a ticket. Up to 900 Prommers can stand in the central Arena at London’s Royal Albert Hall, and a further 500 can stand, sit or recline in the Gallery.
The full line-up for the Proms 2010 has now been announced and includes 76 main concerts in Royal Albert Hall plus many other smaller concerts and events.
See the Proms 2010 website http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/2010 for listings of all Proms concerts and events.
Proms Plus Events
But of course, there’s more to the world-famous BBC Proms than just the amazing range of classical music concerts! There are a further 70 Proms Plus events as part of the festival. That’s talks, workshops, films, free performances and activities – offering extra context and insight to audiences on every one of the 58 days of the season.
Proms Tickets
Proms tickets went on sale on 4 May 2010.
