Notting Hill Carnival 2011

The annual Notting Hill Carnival is returning to the streets this August Bank Holiday.

The Carnival has been running since 1964 and brings the roots of the Caribbean to West London through a variety of lively entertainment.

This famous Caribbean themed festival boasts the largest street party in Europe, filling West London with 2.4million people each year. From the blaring calypso music to the exciting tastes found at the food stalls, Notting Hill becomes a sea of colour and energy. Whilst experiencing what the carnival has to offer a procession of Caribbean dancers becomes the main spectacle of the event, with towering feathered costumes and brightly coloured floats.

Whether you go along to watch or wish to join in by jumping in the crowd or partaking in competitions, it is guaranteed to be a fun day out for all.

Saturday 27th - Carnival begins & Steel Band Competition
Sunday 28th - Children’s day with Shorter Parade Route & Costume Competition
Monday 29th - Parade & After-Parties

The Parade route begins on Great Western Road, along Chepstow Road, on to Westbourne Grove, ending on Ladbroke Grove.
