Special 25th Anniversary showing of Les Misérables opening on London’s West End

One of the longest running musicals in the history of West End, Les Misérables, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a special new production of the show opening 23 September 2010. This special production is only being shown in London at the Barbican Theatre on West End, the original theatre that Les Misérables played in London.

The anniversary production will feature new sets inspired by Victor Hugo’s paintings as well as new staging by director Cameron Mackintosh. The anniversary production will only be showing on London’s West End until 2 October 2010.

London theatregoers will also have the unique opportunity to see the 25th Anniversary Concert performance Sunday, 3 October 2010 at the O2 arena.  Over 300 actors and musicians from the current two productions and many past productions will come together to celebrate Les Misérables 25th anniversary. 

The original production of Les Misérables will continue to play at its current home at Queen’s Theatre in addition the showings of the anniversary production and concert. This October is a special opportunity for anyone who enjoys theatre to be in London and take part of the celebration of the historic run of this show.
